Problems with Program Guides and Air times

Q: When I click on program guides or air times, a blank screen comes up, or a little box with coloured objects appears in the corner. What should I do?

A: There are a number of things you can try:

  • Make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Reader installed. If it isn't download and install it. The latest version can be found at this link: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
  • Wait longer (only if a blank screen appears). Depending on network conditions, the file may be taking longer to download than expected.
  • You can try just downloading it without opening it in the web browser. Windows users can do this by right-clicking on the link and clicking "Save target as..." in the menu that appears (in Internet Explorer), or click "Save link as..." in Firefox. Mac OS X users may do this by control-clicking (or right-clicking) on the link, and clicking "Download linked file" in Safari. You can then open this file outside of the web browser.

Q: When I open the program guides or air times, I get a message saying something about a screen reader needing to tag the document. What does this mean?

A: Adobe Reader has "assistive technology" built in that can read documents out loud called "Read Out Loud." If it is turned on, it will attempt to "tag" any document that it tries to read if not already done. If you are vision impaired and require Adobe Reader to read the file out loud for you, please allow it to tag the document. If you do not require it, you may de-activate "Read Out Loud" in the latest version of Adobe Reader by selecting View / Read Out Loud / Deactivate Read Out Loud from the menus.
